The Anniversary Edition of Axis & Allies will feature new sculpts for four of the game pieces and the largest Axis & Allies game board ever produced, measuring 61 x 117 cm.
The game includes over 650 plastic miniatures, packaged in six country-specific storage boxes, 14 dice, tokens, currency, and plastic markers.
It is designed for 2 to 6 players, ages 12 and up, and lasts about 6 hours.
Created by Larry Harris, Axis & Allies has been an iconic staple of tabletop wargaming since its initial release in 1981.
Using plastic miniatures to represent different types of units, the game recreates the entirety of World War II on the tabletop.
A rare Anniversary Edition was released in 2008, featuring new units and a larger game board.
Wizards of the Coast is today reproducing this version of Harris's masterpiece with an updated rulebook that simplifies certain elements of gameplay and adds cruisers as a naval unit. The game also offers a sixth playable position: Italy joins the Axis powers as a full partner.
On the Allies' side, the United States takes control of the Chinese forces resisting the Japanese invasion.
