Designed by Stan Kordonskiy (Dice Hospital, Rurik, Lock Up), developed by Jonny Pac (Coloma, Sierra West, Lions of Lydia), with a solo mode by Drake Villareal (Solani, Spook Manor) and illustrated by The Mico (Raiders of the North Sea, Paladins of the West Kingdom, Valeria), Endless Winter: Paleoamericans is set in North America around 10,000 BCE. Players guide the development of their tribes over several generations, from nomadic hunter-gatherers to thriving tribal societies. Throughout the game, tribes migrate and colonize new lands, establish cultural traditions, hunt Paleolithic megafauna, and erect eternal megalithic structures.
Endless Winter is a eurogame that innovatively combines worker placement and deck-building. Each turn, players send members of their tribe to different action spaces and fund these actions by playing cards and spending resources. Tribe cards grant additional workers, while Culture cards offer various unique effects. Alternatively, cards can be saved for an Eclipse phase at the end of the round, where they are revealed simultaneously to determine the new turn order and trigger various bonus actions.
The game offers an original blend of intertwined systems and mechanics, such as multi-use cards, area influence, tile placement, and set collection. Additionally, many strategies can lead to victory. After four dynamic rounds, scores are tallied, and the tribe with the most points wins the game!
