The mushroom causes Bowser to start inhaling everything around him, including Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. Do the Mario Bros. have the courage to save Peach and escape?

Players control two distinct stories. One represents Bowser and his efforts to prevent an arche villain from taking control of his castle.
Meanwhile, inside Bowser, the microbe-sized Mario & Luigi must navigate through challenges and keep their nerve if they want to find a way out.
They take measures to control Bowser from the inside without his knowledge. Players can switch between the stories at will.
What happens inside Bowser affects what he does outside. Sometimes, Mario & Luigi must solve puzzles and challenges behind the scenes to help Bowser overcome various obstacles and advance the plot.
Players must press the buttons at the right time to improve their performance during battles and challenges.
In certain battles, Bowser becomes so large that players must turn their Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi system, blow into the microphone, or tap the touchscreen with the stylus to follow the action.
The game features the same hilarious dialogue that has been the hallmark of the Mario & Luigi series.
