19 years after Metroid Fusion, Metroid Dread celebrates the return of intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran in a fast-paced action exploration game set in the heart of a hostile planet.
You play as Samus, clad in streamlined armor capable of deploying a deadly arsenal, originally sent deep within planet ZDR on a scouting mission. When it goes wrong, you have to escape and reach the surface.
Explore every corner of this planet, destroy enemy creatures at full speed, infiltrate dangerous areas and collect abilities allowing you to access new environments!
Combining exploration in 2D and dynamic passages in 3D, Samus is more agile than ever but must face for the first time new enemies at first sight invulnerable... The prey, now, it is you.

Bounty hunter Samus Aran returns to service After the events of Metroid Fusion (Game Boy Advance, 2002), Samus Aran is sent to planet ZDR to investigate mysterious parasites. On the spot, she is hunted down by robots, formidably intelligent, the E.M.M.I, which can eliminate her in one fell swoop.
For the first time in the Metroid saga, the hunt is reversed: Samus will have to be discreet and flee the danger until she is able to face it, while keeping a single objective in mind, to carry out his mission !
Welcome to the maze of planet ZDR
The Metroid saga, at the origin of the metroidvania genre: in this kind of 2D game, you lead your heroine in a labyrinthine world, made up of platforms, secret passages and cavities.
The enemies are numerous and aggressive, contributing to the fast pace and the ambient tension. You must find and master increasingly varied complementary abilities to unlock previously inaccessible passages and areas.
It is therefore a question of finding your bearings in this 2D universe whose arteries intertwine, because you will have to retrace your steps and solve puzzles related to the environment! To do this, the highlighted map, which is revealed as you pass, will be very useful to you; it also indicates some hidden objects.
The planet is divided into zones offering very different environments, a laboratory, an underground forest or a cave filled with water, each loaded with an immersive and disturbing atmosphere. You start deep within the planet: will you reach the surface?
Play as a more agile and powerful Samus Aran than ever
Samus' mobility and liveliness will serve you well in escaping the terrible threats that will stand in your way. Slide on the ground, jump from platform to platform, roll around in a morph ball to sneak through a narrow passage and, of course, shoot your enemies with the 360° aim of your cannon! As you go, all these actions will no longer have any secrets for you and you will cross the bowels of ZDR at full speed.
Master his iconic actions, such as his counter-attack which, if well placed, can give you an opening for a devastating attack, or his spectral camouflage, to make you undetectable to the radars of E.M.M.I. As you win, your arsenal will become more and more diverse with bombs, new armor and greater firepower
Gather as much ammo and supplies as possible for your stamina gauge. Some items give you useful temporary speed or resistance bonuses
Ready to face fearsome foes
The entrails of this world are full of creatures: flying, crawling or running on the wall, they are of all types and have a particular attack pattern that you will have to know to eliminate them as quickly as possible. Don't just dodge them because you'll need the ammo they drop as rewards
Some corridors are monitored by the terrible E.M.M.Is: they patrol with their bluish radar and the slightest noise will attract their attention. If you are spotted, you must flee, use your spectral camouflage, or unleash a salvo from the only weapon capable of bringing them down... it's up to you to find out.
At the end of each zone, a boss awaits you in a closed room, each requiring the specific use of a newly acquired weapon to reach its weak point.
Punctually in the fight, and without transition, cutscenes launch to trigger decisive attacks for your victory.
Metroid Dread amiibo give you a boost, Samus's gives you an extra energy tank and E.M.M.I's an extra missile tank.
